STUDENTS' WELFARE ASSOCIATION
Vidyarthi Sahayyak Samiti (VSS) is a non-Government charitable organization at Pune, (Maharashtra state / India) and provides lodging, boarding facilities at a nominal cost to students (boys and girls) from economically weaker section of society coming to Pune to pursue higher education. VSS also conducts various programmes aimed at personality development and character building for the benefit of the students.

VSS strongly beleives that knowledge is power hence an up to date library for all students

News & Events [February March 2013]
  1. The issue of “Ankur”, which mainly contains articles written by students, was published
  2. The annual gathering of Maji VIdyarthi Mandal took place at the Lajpatrai Hostel on 24th Feb 2013. The programme was attended by about 150 ex-students. Smt. Nirmalatai Purandare, Trustee, Shri Ravindra Bhat, Karyakarta, Smt. Sandhya Jagtap from the Mess and Shri Krishna Dhume, Security, were felicitated during this session. The hire charges for the various halls in the Hostels have been revised from 1st April 2013.
  3. An agreement was signed with Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd for supply of natural gas to Lajpatrai Hostel in place of the existing LPG. This is expected to result in considerable saving in expenditure.
  4. Smt. Madhumalati Apte, wife of Late Shri Achyutrao Apte, founder of Samiti, passed away due to old age on 5th March 2013. She had been a professor of Mathematics in S.P. College and Ferguson College.
  5. Send off ceremony for the final year students from Samiti hostels took place on 16th March 2013.
  6. Dr. Meera Shirolkar Charitable Trust donated Rs. 20,000/- for purchase of books.
  7. Vanita Samaj, Delhi donated Rs. 10,000/- under the Guardian scheme.
